On behalf of LeadingAge California, President and CEO Joanne Handy will accept the 2014 Award for Business Advancement of Gerontology from the California Council on Gerontology & Geriatrics (CCGG), presented at their April 4 Annual Meeting, “Building Communities for Older Adults in California: Partnerships and Stakeholders in Action” in Sacramento, Calif.
The award for Business Advancement of Gerontology was created by the California Council on Gerontology and Geriatrics (CCGG) to recognize businesses that understand and respond to the unique needs of older adults through innovative business practices, including the use of gerontologists in planning and administration. “We are honored to be selected. Leaders with gerontology backgrounds are a critical force among our aging services provider members. The need for gerontologists in our settings will only grow as the future unfolds,” says Ms. Handy.
